Privacy Policy

In order to comply with the Law for the Protection of Personal Information (law no. 57, May 30, 2003; hereinafter referred to as the Personal Information Protection Law) and related laws (including guidelines), Digital Advertising Consortium Inc. (hereinafter referred to as the Company) has formulated basic policies for personal information protection (hereinafter referred to as the basic policies) and has devised measures for the adequate protection and management of personal information.

1.Acquisition/ handling of personal information

When acquiring personal information, the Company shall clearly specify the purpose of use in advance and shall acquire such information from individuals by appropriate and lawful means. The Company shall use personal information provided by individuals to the extent of achieving the initially intended purpose. In the event that the purpose of use changes the Company shall obtain permission from the individuals who provide the Company with their personal information.

2.Purpose of use of personal information

The Company shall use personal information provided by individuals for the following purposes:

(1) Personal information provided by customers

Category of personal information/ Purpose of use

  • Personal information presented to the Company by individuals by means of a document addressed to the Company (web form/ emails for the request of reference material, comments, or inquiries) shall be used:
    1. to provide responses to inquiries, requested reference materials, and etc
    2. to implement contact between the individual and the Company
    3. to provide the individual with information of events, seminars, and other matters

(2) Personal information provided by shareholders, employees, and applicants

Categories of personal information/ Purpose of use

  • Personal information provided by shareholders shall be used:
    1. to provide the shareholder with information and materials based on the commercial law and related laws
    2. to obtain and manage the status and trends of shareholders
  • Personal information provided by employees (including management executives, dispatched employees, and part-time workers) shall be used:
    1. for personnel/ labor management
    2. to create documents based on the commercial law and related laws
  • Personal information provided by applicants shall be used:
    1. to provide the applicant with information regarding interviews
    2. to decide acceptance
    3. to notify the applicant of the application results and other matters

3.Provision of personal information to third parties

The personal information acquired by the Company shall not be provided to third parties without the agreement of the individuals concerned unless otherwise stipulated by the Personal Information Protection Law and other laws.

However, personal information may be provided to third parties in the following cases:

  1. If stipulated by law or ordinance
  2. If required for the protection of life or property rights when there is difficulty in obtaining the agreement of the individual concerned
  3. If required for the improvement of public health or for the sound development of children when there is difficulty in obtaining the agreement of the individual concerned
  4. If required for cooperation with national or local public administration or delegates thereof executing legal administration of the law when the acquisition of the agreement of the individual concerned may obstruct the execution of the relevant administrative action

4.Management of personal information

The Company shall endeavor to ensure that the personal information obtained by the Company is accurate and up-to-date. After the minimum required preservation period, personal information shall be erased and discarded. The Company shall devise appropriate measures for the safe management of information in order to prevent loss, destruction, alteration, and leakage.

5.Establishment of in-house rules relating to personal information

The Company shall establish an Information Security Committee and shall formulate in-house rules based on these basic policies in order to establish a system for the protection of personal information. The Company shall educate all employees (including part-time workers and dispatched/ loan employees) about said in-house rules of personal information protection.

6.Management of business consignments

When outsourcing all or part of the handling of personal information, the Company shall carefully select an appropriate outsourcing partner and shall implement the required and appropriate supervision of the outsourcing partner by entering into confidentially agreements with the partner.

7.Disclosure/ revision of personal information

In the event that a request for disclosure, revision of content, addition, omission, termination of usage, deletion, or termination of provision to third parties is received from an individual with regard to personal information, the Company shall respond promptly as required by in-house rules after confirming the identity of the individual in question.

8.Handling of accidents related to personal information protection

In the event of the leakage of personal information, the Company shall promptly notify the relevant individual of the leakage and shall publicize the accident and the preventative measures of the Company.

9.Response to complaints

If any complaint is received regarding the handling of personal information, the Company shall strive to take swift and appropriate measures.

10.Continual review

In response to the implementation status of safety management, system technology, revision of laws, and other changes of social trends, the Company shall continuously examine and improve these basic policies and the in-house rules formulated based on these basic policies.

11.Other items

(1) Use of cookies

This website contains specific pages on which a technology called cookies is utilized for the convenience of customers for subsequent visits to the website. A cookie is technology used to identify a web user. Cookies can identify user computers but not users themselves unless their personal information is inputted. Users may choose to cancel or limit this function via settings in the web browser. Service limitation may occur without the use of cookies.

(2) Use of web beacon

This website contains specific pages on which a technology called web beacon (also called clear JIF) is used in order to reveal the frequency of access to said pages. The statistical data obtained via web beacon shall be used for the improvement of the website.

(3) Use of statistical tools

This website contains specific pages on which statistical tools are used in order to grasp the access trend of users as a whole. The data obtained via the statistical tools shall be used for the improvement of the website.
