AudienceOne® Data Usage Policy

This page explains the use of data concerning internet users of the data management platform (DMP), AudienceOne® (hereinafter referred to as "Service"), which is managed by D.A.Consortium Inc. (hereinafter referred to as the "Company"). This page also constitutes part of, and complements, the Company's privacy policy. 1. About AudienceOne®

The Service integrates, analyzes, and visualizes internet users' browsing history on websites and mobile applications (hereinafter referred to as "Applications"), results of advertising deliveries, data obtained by advertisers and media companies using the Service (hereinafter, users of the Service are collectively referred to as "Users"), and data provided from third parties for marketing activities such as advertising deliveries.

This increases the number of chances that internet users will encounter advertising they are interested in or concerned about and reduces the number of chances that they will view advertising they have little interest in.

2. AudienceOne® Data Usage

(1)Major types of data acquired

 ① The major kinds of data acquired by the Company on its own initiative:

  a)Data concerning the use of Web browsers

・Cookie IDs
・Page URLs of websites visited by internet users using their computer browsers or mobile device (e.g., smartphones, tablets) and the dates and times of such visits
 (e.g., smartphones, tablets) and also, the dates and times of such visits

・IP addresses

・User agents


  b)Data concerning the use of Applications
・The advertising-dedicated device identifier provided by smartphone operating systems (iOS, Android) :
 Advertising Identifier (IDFA) for iOS, Google Advertising ID (AAID) for Android
・Name of Application and the dates and times of use

・IP addresses

・User agents


 ② The major types of data acquired by the Company from third parties:

・Survey panel data
・Location data of devices

・Purchase data

・User Identifier Information

However, the Company does not acquire without internet users' consent special care-required personal information as defined in the Personal Information Protection Act as well as any data that is considered sensitive, such as race, religion, political views, sexual orientation, health condition, participation status in labor unions, etc.


(2)Data acquisition method and opt-out

① The Company acquires data through the communication between systems by utilizing programs embedded in Websites and Applications of Users of the Service. In addition, when Users incorporate data of their websites and CRM systems into the Service for analysis and utilization, the Company takes charge of managing such data.

② The Company acquires data collected on the Company's various platforms (e.g., WISE Ads, YIELDONE, XmediaOne®)

③ The Company receives data acquired by third parties in accordance with agreements and applicable laws and regulations.


(3)Purpose of use of data
① Analysis of audience data
The Service categorizes internet users into groups in which individuals are not identified (hereinafter referred to as "Segments") in terms of specific conditions, such as interests, concerns, and age group that can be assumed from acquired data. This segment data is used for marketing and other purposes and this compiled data is called audience data. Such analyses are never used to identify individual internet users. Also, the Company does not conduct analyses to grasp sensitive information that may lead to a violation of internet user rights.

② Delivery of advertising and the preparation of reports on the Company's various platforms (e.g., WISE Ads, YieldOne®, XmediaOne®)

③ Delivery of advertising and the preparation of reports on third-party systems
For advertising delivery services that are linked with the Service, Segments are interfaced in a manner suitable for the advertising delivery service (e.g., Cookie Sync, Piggy Back, advertising-dedicated device identifier, etc.) to enable utilization of the Service’s data. ④ Data provision to third parties
With the use of the Service, the Company provides data on a segment-by-segment basis to Users, including advertising delivery companies, media companies, advertising agencies, and advertisers. In addition to the above-mentioned corporate and other entities, the Company may provide data using appropriate methods in accordance with the relevant purpose(s) to universities, institutions or groups that conduct academic research or people affiliated with such organizations (regardless of whether the main party is an individual or corporation).

In addition to the above, the Company may outsource data to other business entities only to the extent necessary to fulfill the purpose of use indicated on this page.

⑤ To identify users in environments where cookies are not supported
To identify users in environments where cookies are not supported, this service uses ID5 Platform Offering, a solution provided by ID5 Technology Ltd. Through programs embedded in websites and applications, this solution sends information about a user’s internet usage to ID5 Technology. (4)Data retention period
IDs written in cookies and advertising-dedicated device identifiers issued by OS companies will be retained for two years from the last date of acquisition.


3. Verification, Modification, and Suspension of Use of Segment Data

To ensure the Company’s transparency of its data processing and provide more relevant information, the Service offers an advertising setting function that allows internet users to verify, modify or stop the use of data regarding their attributes, interests or concerns as inferred by the Company.

4. To Stop the Analysis and Use of Data of the Service

If you do not want your data to be analyzed, utilized for advertisement delivery, or provided to third parties by the Service, please follow the procedure below.

(1)If using a browser

You will need to opt-out again if you change your browser, delete cookies, or use a new computer or device.

(2)When using an application (acquisition using advertising-dedicated device identifier)
You will need to follow a different procedure for each smartphone OS. For details, visit the Data Driven Advertising Initiative (DDAI) website (Japanese).

However, doing so will not stop the delivery of targeted advertising linked to the Service, or the delivery of advertising itself.

5. Data Security Control Measures

The Company will strictly abide with the Guidelines for Behavioral Advertising set forth by the Japan Internet Advertising Association (JIAA), will take and strictly manage security control measures in its handling of Informative Data to prevent unauthorized access of Informative Data and the leakage, loss or damage of Informative Data (including loss, destruction or manipulation), and will endeavor to continuously review, correct and improve the content and methods of such measures.

6. Revisions to This Page

The Company will continuously examine and improve its information control system. With this process, the content of this page may be revised. The Company will notify internet users of any revisions at an appropriate time depending on the changes, either on this website or on another website managed by the Company, or by any other method deemed appropriate by the Company. The revisions will take effect from the date separately specified by the Company.
