MarketOne® Data Usage Policy

This page provides an explanation on advertising using "MarketOne®" (hereinafter referred to as the "Service"), the online advertising transaction support system managed by D.A. Consortium Inc. (hereinafter referred to as the "Company"). This page also constitutes part of, and complements, the Company's privacy policy. The terms used on this page are in conformance with the Company's privacy policy (hereinafter referred to as the "Privacy Policy"). To read the Privacy Policy, please click this link

1.About MarketOne®

Operation of the Service is outsourced by the Company to Platform One Inc. (Located at Ebisu 4-20-3, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo).
The Service provides advertisers with targeted advertising schemes that utilize Internet user data. By utilizing data concerning Internet users acquired upon their use of websites or applications, and also data acquired through the delivery of advertising from the Service, users of the Service can deliver advertising that matches the interests and preferences of the Internet users. This increases the number of chances for Internet users to come into contact with advertising they are interested in or concerned about and reduces their chances of viewing unnecessary advertising they have little interest in.

2.About Informative Data

The Service acquires "Informative Data" from Internet users. "Informative Data" is information about Internet users, such as website browsing history and information relating to application use, that can be accumulated and provided to analyze user interests and preferences.

3.Kinds of Informative Data Acquired, and Purpose of Use and Retention Period for the Same

The major kinds of Informative Data acquired by the Service and the purpose of use for the same are as follows:

(1) When using a browser ( acquisition using cookies )

① Identification of Internet users based on the ID written to cookies (identified at the browser level, individuals not personally identifiable).

② Acquisition and analysis of URLs of web pages visited by Internet users using browsers on their computer or mobile device and information relating to their behavior history (such as clicks on delivered advertising) in order to deliver advertising that matches the interests and preferences (assumed gender/age-bracket, etc.) of Internet users.

③ Acquisition of IP addresses of Internet users to use in the delivery of appropriate advertising matching the areas where they use the Internet, such as the areas where they live, or the routes to and from their workplace/school, or any other destination they may visit.

④ Acquisition of user agents of Internet users in order to use information acquired from them regarding the operating systems and browsers of the computers or mobile devices used by Internet users in the delivery of appropriate advertising that matches those system specifications.

⑤ Acquisition of the dates and times Internet users visit websites to deliver advertising that matches the visited dates and times, report the results of advertising delivery to advertisers, and manage the retention period of the Informative Data.

(2) When using an application (acquisition using advertising-dedicated device identifier)

① Identification of application users based on the advertising-dedicated device identifier provided by the operating systems of various smartphones (Advertising Identifier for iOS, Advertising ID for Android) (identified at the mobile-device level, individuals not personally identifiable).

② Acquisition and analysis of information relating to application use connected with an advertising-dedicated device identifier in order to deliver advertising that matches the interests and attributes (assumed gender/age-bracket, etc.) of application users.

③ Acquisition of IP addresses of application users to use in the delivery of appropriate advertising matching the areas where they use the application, such as the areas where they live, or the routes to and from their workplace/school, or any other destination they may visit.

④ Acquisition of user agents of application users in order to use information acquired from them regarding the operating systems and browsers of the computers or mobile devices (smartphones, tablets, etc.) and applications used by application users in the delivery of appropriate advertising that matches those system specifications

⑤ Acquisition of the dates and times of application use to deliver advertising that matches said dates and times, report the results of advertising delivery to advertisers, and manage the retention period of the Informative Data

The retention period for Informative Data acquired by the Service is two years from the date a given Internet user last visits the website carrying advertising delivered by the Service. For applications the period is two years from the date of last use.

4.Informative Data Acquisition Method and Opt-out

(1) When using a browser (acquisition using cookies)

The Service acquires Informative Data by utilizing a program called a "tag," which is embedded in websites used by the Service.

If an Internet user does not desire the delivery of targeted advertising using the Service or the sharing of Informative Data with third parties (desires to opt-out), they should click the link below. However, doing so will only stop the delivery of targeted advertising by the Service, and will not stop the delivery of advertising itself. Internet users will also need to opt-out again if they change their browser, delete cookies, or change to a new computer or device.

(2) When using an application (acquisition using advertising-dedicated device identifier)

The provision of Informative Data is accepted in a format enabling temporary use for targeted advertising from media companies that use sales/advertising revenue maximization support tools for media advertising frameworks called “SSP (Supply Side Platform),” and media companies or advertisers using tools for the study and analysis of information relating to application use called “tracking tools.”

If an application user does not desire the delivery of targeted advertising using the Service (desires to opt-out), they should click this link.

However, doing so will only stop the delivery of targeted advertising by the Service, and will not stop the delivery of advertising itself. The opt-out will be required again when changing to a new mobile device.

5.Deleting/Disabling Cookies

Depending on the computer (browser) used by Internet users, the cookies issued by the Service may be deleted by changing the settings. This also deletes the ID information associating the Informative Data acquired by the Service and the browser used by the Internet user, and so can stop targeted advertising delivery based on previously existing Informative Data. However, this will not stop the delivery of targeted advertising. Targeted advertising will begin anew with any subsequent use of the Internet. Furthermore, depending on the computer (browser) used by Internet users, cookie functionality may be disabled by changing the settings. However, please be aware that this may also disable some or all other services on the website

6.Reissue (Reset) of Advertising Dedicated Device Identifier

Depending on the device used by application users, the advertising-dedicated device identifier issued by the OS may be reissued (reset) by changing the settings. This reissues the advertising-dedicated device identifier associating the Informative Data acquired by the Service and the mobile device used by the application user, and so can stop targeted advertising delivery based on previously existing Informative Data. However, this will not stop the delivery of targeted advertising. Targeted advertising will begin anew with any subsequent use of the application.

7.Provision of Informative Data to Third Parties

For details concerning the provision of Informative Data to third parties, please check the “Internet Advertising Data Usage Policy.” Other than that, Informative Data acquired through the Service shall not be provided to any third party, except in the scenarios below:

(1) When provision is required to fulfill any legal obligation
(2) When provision is required to safeguard an important interest, such as the life, body, health, or property, of a consumer whose consent is difficult to obtain
